PROJECT GEOLOGIST - KIRKLAND LAKE, ON

Warrior Gold Inc.

Warrior Gold is a junior gold exploration company with a 100% interest in the Goodfish-Kirana property in the Kirkland Lake gold camp, Ontario, Canada. The project consists of a large land package (~11.5 km x 3 km), that is early-staged and located in a highly prospective geologic setting, six km from the town of Kirkland Lake. The Warrior team is comprised of dedicated technical consultants and management with a diverse skill set and many years of experience in mineral exploration looking to advance the project to discovery.

 

Job Title: Project Geologist

The company is seeking a full-time Project Geologist on a fixed, 1-year contract, (possibility for an extension) who will report to the senior technical team and lead exploration activities on Warrior Gold’s Goodfish-Kirana Project located in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt in Kirkland Lake, Ontario.

 

Essential and desirable criteria for the role includes:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Geology or Earth Science

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in mineral exploration including:

    • Experience across a range of project stages – from grassroots prospects through to advanced drilling and geoscience data sets

    • Knowledge and experience in greenstone belts exploration and field activities considered a plus

    • Knowledge of orogenic gold deposit models

  • Commitment to safety, environment, and community

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Flexibility to work from home between field programs and the ability to work on a field rotation during active field programs

  • Modest proficiency with GIS, Leapfrog, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Modest proficiency with mobile GIS, database collection software, and digital mapping techniques

  • Registered as a Professional Geologist (P.Geo) or G.I.T.

 

Responsibilities:

Fieldwork may include spotting surface drill hole collars, surface mapping, prospecting, soil geochemistry, and working with geophysical surveys, additional duties include the core logging, monitoring of exploration drilling programs, interpretation of drill results, and working with other exploration geologists to advance concepts and ideas.

Schedule

  • To be determined; however, schedules will be dictated by the scope of the exploration program.

  • Between field programs, office work will be required from a home base.
