Danièle Spethmann, P.Geo., President, CEO & Director
Ms. Spethmann has over 30+ years’ experience in northern Ontario, Canada and internationally in Latin American and Botswana including senior geologist and principal on two projects with significant discoveries (Choco 10 - Carolina Zone and Fruta del Norte) in Venezuela and in Ecuador. Companies she has worked with include IAMGOLD, African Copper, Aurelian Resources and Bolivar Goldfields. Ms. Spethmann studied geology at the University of Ottawa and recently completed the Mining Management Certificate at Ryerson University. She is a member of the Association of Professional Geoscientists Ontario, committee member of the Toronto Geological Discussion Group and WIM Toronto.
Gary Nassif, P.Geo., Director
Mr. Nassif is a professional geologist with 25+ years’ experience in gold, base-metal and diamond exploration in Canada, United States and sub-Saharan Africa. He is presently Senior Vice President of Jerritt Canyon Gold, a private Nevada gold-producer and 80%-owned subsidiary of Sprott Mining Inc. He is also President & CEO of Argentum Silver Corp., a TSX-V listed explorer, and a director of Inventus Mining. He was previously Manager of Exploration Services for Kerr Mines, Northern Gold Mining, and Trelawney Mining & Exploration prior to its sale to IAMGOLD for $608 million in 2012. He holds an M.Sc. in Geology (McGill University), a B.Sc. in Geology (Concordia University) and a Certificate in Mining Law from Osgoode Hall.
Peter Winnell, Director
Mr. Winnell has +45 years’ experience in the Canadian capital markets focused on fund management and institutional sales including former Vice Chairman, Octagon Capital Corporation, a boutique investment brokerage where he led numerous transactions, with emphasis on the mining sector.
Steve Burleton MBA, CFA, ICD.d., Director
Mr. Burleton has +25 years’ experience in capital markets, the investment banking industry, corporate development and strategy. He was most recently the President and CEO of GT Gold, and prior to this, VP of Business Development at Richmont Mines Inc. which was acquired in 2017 by Alamos Gold Inc. for US$770 million. Steve has worked extensively in the Canadian investment banking industry, including positions of Managing Director of Investment Banking at Wellington West Capital Markets Inc. and at Scotia Capital Inc. Steve is a CFA charter holder, has an MBA from York University and holds an ICD.d designation from the Rotman School of Management.
